The Science Precinct
DS Architects
Context & Brief:
DS Architects briefed us to create a short documentary to showcase their design of the new mega laboratories and atrium within the Science Precinct at Deakin University.
Our Response:
Through considered cinematography and engaging interviews we crafted the story of the Science Precinct’s design and development. In our film treatment we split the narrative into 4 sections – Context & Design brief, Client Vision, Design Narrative and Project cinematography. This allowed us to carefully construct a linear narrative of the building’s development from design brief to project completion. We wanted the documentary to have a cinematic look and feel to reflect the dramatic atrium that is at the heart of the buildings design. This was achieved through wide angle lens’, subtle camera movements and aerial shots.
Outcome:
The documentary was extremely well received by the client and has been published on their website.

“I really like the tone of the video, I think the architecture does (most of) the speaking, so you’ve nailed the brief. I asked Dave to comment and his only comment was ‘awesome’.”
